	Much of the technology industry “buzz” is about wireless. Coalition Building - One of the major challenges that large scale wireless networks that cover a very large geographical area face is the one of coalition and consensus building that must take place between the various constituent groups. Our team at R3 has many years of community and economic development experience and expertise. We have been involved with Chambers of Commerce at the Board level, Economic Development at the local and state level, Hospitals and Emergency Services, Contractors Associations and many other organizations that provide valuable services into the community. When considering a large scale WiFi Network, all of the constituent organizations have to come together and participate. The Applications

Wireless Mesh - In large scale WiFi deployments, there is “Mesh” and then there is “MESH” – does your organization have the internal experience and expertise to separate and understand the “difference”? Mesh technology is not necessarily new, but there are some basic hardware and application differences. Many mesh technology deployments depending on the design and hardware selected will afford speeds not a lot faster than high speed dial-up. If this surprises you, it should. Our team can assist you in understanding the RF issues that mesh networks must follow and how frequency sharing and separation can affect the speeds even on a “wireless” deployment. Does your application require Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), or Video? If so, then much more attention must be given to the design of the mesh network. Again, our expertise at R3 covers all of these questions before they become “concerns”.

Point-of-Sale - An application that has found significant success in the wireless marketplace is in Point-of-Sale (POS) applications. R3 has worked with one client where the increase in sales was several hundred percent and the venue is expanding to more wireless POS terminals currently. If your organization has POS terminals that require mobility and portability to be placed where the customers are, R3 can implement a solution that will let you put the POS where the customer is, not make them hunt for your sales location.

Wireless Packaging - From an engineering perspective, an indoor designed Access Point that has been repackaged into an “Outdoor Weatherproof Enclosure” does not qualify as an outdoor rated device. Our experience in electronics manufacturing and electronics design gives us the unique ability to determine if the device our client is considering will actually survive in the environment that they plan to install it into.
